Welcome to Local League Cricket, Birmingham’s Premier Community Cricket League Founded in 2003, Local League Cricket has grown to become a cornerstone of community sports in Birmingham. Our league started with a modest number of teams and has since expanded to over 50 teams, bringing together players from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.

Our Mission

Local League Cricket was established with the mission to provide a platform for cricket enthusiasts, particularly those from deprived and disadvantaged backgrounds, to play and enjoy the sport in a safe and supportive environment. We aim to foster community spirit, inclusivity, and a love for cricket through our league.

Our Growth

Since its inception, Local League Cricket has expanded significantly due to the dedication and hard work of its volunteers. Through these collective efforts, the league has developed into a nationally recognised platform, attracting players from beyond Birmingham. Our commitment extends to improving local cricket infrastructure, most notably through the development and maintenance of cricket grounds such as the one in Calthorpe Park, adjacent to the renowned Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
